Eskimo Original Stone Cut Prints
Description
You are being offered at 10% of each the framed value a limited edition stone cut prints by artist Kootoo Munno, all produced in 1981.
They are signed and dated in pencil. Each print is in perfect condition and has never been framed.
Kootoo Munno lives in Kimmirut, (population 433), on Baffin Island just east of Cape Dorset where he is a town Counselor. In 2001 Kootoo Munno was part of the official Nunivak team that participated in a snow-carving Competition at the Ottawa Winterlude.
Size: 12” X 18” unframed
Colour: Black on ivory Parchment type paper
In 1959 Inuit artists began using soap-stone to carve their visions and pulled prints from the slabs using similar techniques to the ancient Chinese scholars.
