On behalf of our client we are currently recruiting for a Lean Manufacturing Manager in their processing facility located in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, the Lean Manufacturing Manager also maintains a close working relationship with the Regional Lean Manufacturing Director. Responsibilities: • Manage overall lean agenda including Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, 5S, Operator Asset Care, Practical Problem Solving (A3). Standard Work, Managing for Daily Improvement, Planning and Review, etc. • Effective selection of Kaizen team membership to ensure event success; plan and manage logistics for events; deliver Kaizen training; facilitate Kaizen events and Lean workshops. • Support sustainable change: manage through the completion of Kaizen event; follow-ups; monitor results related to implemented change(s); track level to which changes have been sustained, address as applicable; leverage Lean techniques to continuously challenge status quo and advance the Plant Strategy. • Ensure management reporting: status updates/reports to plant management, Regional Lean Director, and Global Lean Team; participate in Lean Planning and Review meetings as required; share learning within and across facilities and regions. • Participate as key team member on the Plant Leadership Team; enable the development and management of the Plant Productivity Pipeline over a defined timeframe. Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications: • Possesses thorough knowledge of plant operations. • Undergraduate degree is preferred. Combination of education and relevant experience will also be considered • Effective listener; able to ‘read’ the cues of his/her audience and adapt approach/message; encourages open communication and sharing of ideas among the team members. • Exceptionally well-organized skilled facilitator with excellent communication and presentation skills; • Committed to self-development (the incumbent must be prepared to develop mastery of the company’s lean approach and of the company’s toolset). Lean Manufacturing experience is a plus. Ideally the candidate will have completed lean training such as Greenbelt or Blackbelt in Lean. • Strong mathematical aptitude and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook & Powerpoint).
